Fatty Liver Disease, now known as Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), occurs when excess fat builds up in the liver. It has become one of the most common liver conditions in India and is increasingly seen in people with obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, or a sedentary lifestyle. In its early stages, fatty liver often causes no symptoms and is frequently detected during routine health check-ups. If left untreated, however, it can progress to liver inflammation, scarring, and even liver failure over time.

The good news is that fatty liver can often be reversed through healthy eating, regular exercise, weight management, and control of diabetes or cholesterol. Regular follow-up with your doctor helps monitor liver health and prevent complications before they become serious.
