Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women worldwide and is increasingly being diagnosed in India. It occurs when abnormal cells in the breast grow uncontrollably. Common warning signs include a painless lump in the breast or armpit, changes in the size or shape of the breast, skin dimpling, nipple discharge (especially if blood-stained), or changes in the nipple. While not every breast lump is cancer, any new lump should be evaluated promptly.

Regular breast self-awareness, clinical breast examinations, and mammography for eligible women can help detect breast cancer at an early stage, when treatment is most effective. Modern treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, or targeted therapy, depending on the type and stage of the disease. Early detection remains the key to achieving the best possible outcomes.
